Elizabeth Babb has been working as an artist for most of her life. She began serious studies at the age of 13 when she was chosen to do an apprenticeship under sculptor Glen Michaels from Detroit, MI. From him she learned various techniques and skills, including the study of anatomy and the art of representational drawing.
She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kent State University in 1988, and her Master of Fine Arts Degree from Temple University, Tyler School of Art in 1993. Her degree focused on printmaking. She also studied in Rome, Italy for a year. She is currently teaching at Kent State University.
Her works have been acknowledged with many awards. They have been exhibited in many venues including: galleries, museums and a show at OIA in New York City. She recently had a solo show at the Butler Institute of Art in Youngstown, OH with her photography.
Purchases of her work have been from private collectors in Europe and Across the United States. She works across many mediums and styles. She really enjoys working on abstract and figurative works.
